Knee Pain

Knees that ache on stairs, protest after sitting, or swell after a walk can shrink your whole world. Our hands-on care plan eases the muscles and joint structures around the knee so movement becomes comfortable again.

Understanding knee pain

The knee sits between the hip and the ankle and takes orders from both. When the muscles around it — quadriceps, hamstrings, calves — become tight, weak, or knotted, the kneecap tracks poorly and the joint surfaces load unevenly. Add years of stairs, standing, or an old injury, and the knee starts to complain: aching after activity, stiffening when still, clicking on the way down stairs. Much of this pain comes not from the joint surface itself but from the overworked soft tissue around it, which is precisely why hands-on treatment can help so much.

How our therapies help

Trigger Point Therapy hunts down the tight, tender knots in the thigh and calf muscles that refer pain into the knee and pull the joint out of its easy alignment. Sustained pressure releases these points, often producing a noticeable drop in pain within a session or two.

Musculo-Skeletal Manipulation then works on the joint and its supporting structures directly — gentle, specific movements that restore normal glide to the kneecap and knee joint, ease stiffness, and rebalance how load passes through the leg. As pain settles, the simple strengthening in your home-care plan takes over, building the muscular support that keeps the knee comfortable for the long term. Most people measure progress in real life: stairs taken normally, longer walks, kneeling to the floor without a second thought.

Questions we are asked

How many sessions before my knee feels better?+

Plans usually run 6–10 sessions. Many people feel meaningfully less pain within the first three or four, with strength and stair confidence continuing to improve through the course.

Does the treatment hurt?+

Trigger point work on tight thigh and calf muscles can feel briefly tender — a "good hurt" that eases as the knot releases. The joint work itself is gentle and always within your comfort.

When should I get my knee checked by a doctor?+

See a doctor first if the pain follows a twist or fall, if the knee is hot, red, and swollen, if it locks completely, or if you cannot bear weight. Our therapy supports recovery well alongside medical care for arthritis and old injuries.
