What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a hands-on therapy centred on the spine and joints. Through gentle adjustments and careful alignment, it restores proper posture, reduces tension, and improves how the whole body functions. At KiLiK, chiropractic techniques are woven into our practice to create harmony between the musculoskeletal system and the body's natural energy flow.
The idea is simple: when the spine and joints sit where they should, everything connected to them — muscles, nerves, circulation — works better.
How it helps the body recover
Realigning the spine and joints relieves pressure on the nerves that pass between them. That single change can reduce inflammation, calm muscle spasms, and free up movement that stiffness had taken away. With the nervous system working without interference, the body's own ability to heal improves — which is why chiropractic care helps with such common complaints as chronic back pain, migraines, joint stiffness, and postural strain.
The techniques we use
No two spines need the same treatment, so chiropractic has developed a family of techniques. Spinal manipulation is the traditional adjustment most people picture. Flexion-distraction uses gentle, rhythmic stretching, often for disc-related problems. The drop table lets the therapist make corrections with much lighter force, while the Activator method uses a small handheld instrument for precise, low-force work. Gonstead adjustments focus on posture and vertebral correction.
Beyond these, specialised methods such as diversified adjustments, Thompson drops, Atlas Orthogonal, and Cox flexion-distraction address specific spinal or neurological issues. Your therapist selects the combination that suits your body — always with care, never with more force than needed.
What a session looks like
- 1
Posture and spine assessment
Your therapist examines your posture, spinal alignment, and joint movement to find the areas that need careful adjustment.

- 2
Spinal manipulation
Traditional hands-on adjustment restores movement and function to restricted segments of the spine.

- 3
Targeted technique
Depending on your needs, the therapist may use gentle flexion-distraction stretching for disc issues, a drop table for lighter-force corrections, or the low-force Activator instrument.

- 4
Realignment and recovery guidance
The session closes with posture-focused corrections and simple guidance so the improved alignment holds between visits.

Chiropractic — common questions
Does a chiropractic adjustment hurt?+−
No. Adjustments use controlled, precise movements. You may hear a popping sound as joint pressure releases, but the technique itself is not painful — many people feel immediate relief.
How many sessions will I need?+−
Most people notice improvement within a few sessions. A typical course is 6–10 sessions, depending on how long-standing the problem is.
Which techniques do you use?+−
We draw on several approaches — spinal manipulation, flexion-distraction, drop table, the Activator method, and posture-focused Gonstead adjustments — choosing what suits your body and condition.
Is chiropractic safe?+−
Yes, when performed by trained practitioners. We assess your condition first and avoid forceful adjustments wherever a gentler technique will do the job.
