What is Api Therapy?

Api Therapy — from apis, the Latin word for bee — is the therapeutic use of products from the honeybee hive. For thousands of years, cultures from Egypt to India have turned to honey, propolis, bee pollen, royal jelly, and beeswax for healing and nourishment. In the KiLiK approach, these gifts of the hive are used to promote balance and wellness: supporting immunity, easing physical tension, and restoring natural energy.

Each product has its own character. Honey soothes and nourishes; propolis — the resin bees use to sterilise the hive — is naturally protective; pollen and royal jelly are dense with nutrients; beeswax carries warmth and softens the skin.

How it works

Bee products are among nature's most concentrated substances. Raw honey contains enzymes and natural compounds that calm irritated tissue and support the body's defences, which is why it has always been used for throats, digestion, and skin. Propolis is rich in flavonoids studied for their protective, immune-supporting qualities. Pollen and royal jelly supply proteins, vitamins, and minerals that help rebuild energy in times of fatigue.

In a session, these products are matched to your needs — applied to the skin, blended into warm preparations for stiff joints, or taken in measured amounts as nourishment. Used consistently, they support the body's own healing processes: gentle detoxification, better digestion, easier breathing, and steadier energy through the day.

What a session involves

Every course of Api Therapy begins with a thorough allergy check, because bee products are powerful and anyone sensitive to them must not use them. Once that is clear, sessions are unhurried and simple: skin applications, warm honey-based work over tight or aching areas, and clear guidance on which products to take at home and how to build up gradually. Most people find it a warm, grounding therapy — one that connects everyday nourishment with long-term wellness.

What a session looks like

  1. 1

    Consultation and allergy check

The session begins with a careful review of your health history — and, above all, ruling out any allergy to bees or bee products before anything is used.

  2. 2

    Choosing the right bee products

Based on your needs, the therapist selects from honey, propolis, bee pollen, royal jelly, and beeswax — each with its own strengths, from immune support to joint comfort.

  3. 3

    Application or supplementation

Products are used in the way that suits your condition: honey or propolis preparations applied to the skin, warm honey-based massage blends for stiff joints, or measured amounts taken as nourishment.

  4. 4

    Building a home routine

You receive simple guidance for continuing at home — such as daily raw honey, propolis drops in season, or pollen taken gradually — so the benefit builds steadily between sessions.

Api Therapy — common questions

Does Api Therapy involve bee stings?+

Traditional apitherapy in some countries includes controlled bee-venom treatment, but our sessions centre on the gentle products of the hive — honey, propolis, pollen, royal jelly, and beeswax — applied to the skin or taken as nourishment.

What is propolis and why is it used?+

Propolis is the resin bees make to protect and sterilise their hive. It is naturally rich in protective plant compounds, and it is traditionally used to support immunity, soothe the throat, and care for the skin.

How do I know if Api Therapy is safe for me?+

The key question is allergy. If you have ever reacted to bee stings, honey, or pollen, this therapy is not for you. For everyone else, products are introduced gradually and in small amounts, so your therapist can confirm you tolerate them well.
