Chronic Fatigue

When rest no longer restores you and every day starts on an empty tank, fatigue becomes more than tiredness — it becomes the backdrop of your life. Our care plan calms the overworked nervous system and gently rebuilds your energy from the ground up.

Understanding chronic fatigue

Chronic fatigue is not laziness and it is not ordinary tiredness. It is what happens when the body's stress-and-recovery system loses its rhythm. Prolonged stress, poor sleep, illness, or simple overload keep the nervous system stuck in a low-grade state of alert: muscles stay subtly braced, sleep stays shallow, and the deep restorative processes that should refill your reserves never quite finish their work. The result is the signature experience of chronic fatigue — waking as tired as you went to bed, and paying for every effort with hours of depletion.

How our therapies help

Our plan targets the stuck alert state directly. Relaxation Techniques — drawing on yoga-based breathing, calming music, and sound — teach your nervous system how to properly stand down, often for the first time in months. Shiatsu adds slow, rhythmic, touch-based pressure across the whole body, easing the braced muscles and encouraging the deep parasympathetic state in which real recovery happens. Marma Immune Waves, which combine movement and breath around the body's traditional vital points, gently stimulate circulation and the body's own restorative capacity without demanding energy you do not have.

Rebuilding sustainable energy

Recovery from fatigue is a pacing project. Between sessions, your therapist will help you build a rhythm of steady sleep times, planned rest, and short daylight walks — deposits into an account that has been overdrawn for too long. Progress is usually quiet at first: deeper sleep, calmer days. Then, week by week, the tank starts refilling.

Questions we are asked

How long before my energy improves?+

Most clients feel noticeably calmer and sleep better within the first two or three sessions. Genuine energy gains tend to build gradually across a six to ten session course — fatigue that took months to develop takes weeks, not days, to unwind.

What do the sessions feel like?+

Deeply restful. Sessions combine guided relaxation with slow, rhythmic shiatsu pressure and marma point work. Many clients drift toward sleep on the table — that is the nervous system doing exactly what we want.

Will treatment tire me out afterwards?+

Occasionally people feel pleasantly heavy or sleepy for a few hours after early sessions. That usually settles quickly, and we always pace the work to your current energy rather than pushing.

When should I see a doctor about fatigue?+

Persistent fatigue should always be checked by a doctor first, as it can signal anaemia, thyroid problems, sleep disorders, or other treatable conditions. Our therapies complement medical care — they do not replace investigation.
