PMS Relief

The days before a period can bring cramping, bloating, sore muscles, and a mood that won't settle. Our gentle, warming care plan eases the monthly build-up of tension so the week before your cycle feels far more like an ordinary week.

Understanding PMS

Premenstrual syndrome is the body's response to the natural rise and fall of hormones in the second half of the cycle. Those shifts affect far more than the reproductive system — they change fluid balance, muscle tone, digestion, sleep, and mood chemistry all at once. That is why PMS rarely arrives as a single symptom: cramps travel with bloating, a tender lower back, and a shorter emotional fuse.

The discomfort is real and physical, and it responds well to care that improves circulation, relaxes soft tissue, and calms the nervous system during the sensitive week.

How our therapies help

Warm packs are the comforting foundation of each session: gentle, sustained heat over the lower abdomen and back relaxes the uterine and postural muscles that clench during the premenstrual phase, easing cramps and that dragging sense of heaviness. Reflexology works through precise pressure points on the feet that correspond to the reproductive and hormonal systems, encouraging better circulation and a settling effect that many women feel through the whole body.

Shiatsu ties the plan together with rhythmic, palm-and-thumb pressure along the back, hips, and abdomen, releasing muscular tension and supporting the deep relaxation that shorter tempers and restless nights are asking for. Sessions are unhurried and warming — most women leave feeling lighter and noticeably calmer, and over a few cycles the premenstrual week tends to lose much of its sting.

Questions we are asked

When in my cycle should I book sessions?+

The most effective window is the week to ten days before your period is due, when symptoms begin building. Your therapist will help you time sessions around your own cycle.

How many cycles before I notice a difference?+

Many women feel meaningfully calmer and less crampy within the first treated cycle. A course of 4–6 sessions across one to two cycles gives the best and most lasting results.

When should I see a doctor?+

If your pain is severe enough to stop daily life, bleeding is unusually heavy or irregular, or symptoms are suddenly worse than your normal pattern, please consult a gynaecologist. Our therapies are supportive care, not a replacement for medical assessment.
