Postpartum Recovery

The months after childbirth ask a great deal of a body that has already given a great deal. Our warm, restorative care plan helps new mothers rebuild strength, ease aches, and find genuine rest during recovery.

Understanding postpartum recovery

Pregnancy and birth reshape nearly every system in the body — ligaments loosen, the core stretches, posture shifts, and hormone levels swing dramatically in the weeks after delivery. Then, just when the body most needs rest, it meets broken sleep, hours of feeding in hunched positions, and the constant lifting and carrying of a newborn.

The aches, swelling, and bone-deep fatigue of this season are not weakness; they are a body asking for help with an enormous transition. Given warmth, rest, and steady care, it recovers remarkably well.

How our therapies help

Warm packs are where each session begins: soothing heat over the lower back, hips, and shoulders relaxes overworked muscles, eases joint ache, and supports circulation to tissues that are still healing. Reflexology then works through gentle pressure points on the feet — a comfortable way to care for the whole body, encouraging better sleep, reduced swelling in the legs, and a general rebalancing after the upheaval of birth.

Relaxation Techniques complete the plan, using guided breathing, calming music, and quiet rest to give an exhausted nervous system what it rarely gets in the newborn months: a genuine pause. Sessions are paced entirely around you, and over a course of 6–10 visits most mothers notice steadier energy, softer aches, and a calmer baseline from which to enjoy their baby.

Questions we are asked

How soon after delivery can I start?+

For a normal delivery, gentle sessions can usually begin after your doctor's postnatal check, often around six weeks. After a caesarean, we wait for your physician's clearance and adapt every technique to protect the healing area.

What happens in a session?+

Sessions are slow and comforting: warm packs over tired muscles, unhurried reflexology on the feet, and guided relaxation. Many mothers say it's the first hour in months that belongs entirely to them — and most sleep better that night.

Can I bring my baby?+

Yes. We understand new mothers can't always arrange care, and we'll make space so your baby can stay close by while you receive treatment.

When should I see a doctor?+

Heavy bleeding, fever, severe abdominal pain, signs of infection, or feelings of hopelessness that persist should go straight to your doctor. Our care supports recovery alongside — never instead of — your postnatal medical follow-up.
